Check out the Surf Report on our Webpage...

SE wind blowing 30 -35 will generate enough swell in numerous spots. The best times to surf is when the wind prediction drops from 35 to 0 (doesn't happen that often, some time it may drop to 15)you get a good 45 minute window of no wind and east coast swell.

Check out Columbia Beach, Lantzville, French Creek, Campbell river has spots, the spit off of comox.....

When you are ready to buy, don't waste your time on line, Ask us! or if you abroad, go to a good local surf shop to discuss your size (weight is import, height isn't), skill level and local wave conditions.

If your still a Newb, a Lesson can cut down the learning curve immensely. Rent boards, Try different things but start off on a longboard. It's too difficult for most people to learn how to surf on a short board. Most get quickly discouraged.

Once you have mastered the basics, look for a nice long board or fun shape (mini-mal) We have local shaper's close by and neighbor's in California who hand shape surfboards that would blow your mind. (quality boards with real care and pride in workmanship.)

Some boards mass produced and machine made. While they may be durable, they surely lack the "human" touch of fine workmanship.

Hand Shaped Brands we Deal:

Bing, Jacobs, Walden, Infinity, Dewey Webber, Harbour, Stewart, Hobie

Machine Shaping Companies We Deal With:

Rolex day and Rolex Datejust are without the need of doubt amid the two most favored style all through the Rolex collection. The common query is :"What are on the way to be the variance amid these two models?" contemplating the fact that two in the wrist watches start looking practically a comparable it is uncomplicated to acquire baffled ,especially after you are buying inside the internet, and you also are only in a http://friutbaby.fotopages.com location to ascertain pictures.

In fact the two wrist watches certainly are a comparable except for the sizing difference. The Datejust circumstance actions 36 mm in width and its bracelet is twenty mm. even although the day has 34 mm circumstance and 19 mm Band. as a finish off result what would make them unique is a few of mm inside the circumstance and one mm inside the band. in the event you are at a diamond jewelry store can be uncomplicated to distinguish them after you possess the wrist watches part by part .

I recently read the article "On Craft" From the most Recent Surfer's Journal Vol.19 Num.6

It's a discussion with Dave Parmenter and Andrew Kidman and the art, science, craft and romance of the traditional handmade surfboard.

It is an awesome piece! it's the 21st century and changes in the surfing industry are crazy! if you haven't allready read it I would suggest you buy a copy and read it! it will bring you back to the first time you ever visualized riding a wave! I can gaurantee the visualization was not on a Cheap, Cookie Cutter pop out made in Thailand.

If you are new to surfing here are a few analogies I have put together so that you can relate.

If you are a gamer, it is kind of like buying a bran new 320gb Playstation 3 but instead of buying games you just download free demos. (you never get the real feel)

If you like to eat, it's like you could have gone to Smokin' Joes BBQ to get a pulled pork poutine but instead you went to timmy's for a snack wrap to save $2.54 (you still want more)

If you like cars, it's like when you go to pick up a rental and your expecting a 2010 Cadillac and they give you the keys to a 93' Firefly

I think I could go on and on. My opinion, Spend the extra $150.00 It feels good to surf a real surfboard and it especially feels good to support the shapers that keep the soul in surfing.

Mike, you might want to check south of Parksville in the Nanoose area. The small cove near my house breaks on the northerly outflow winds we have been having lately. Similar to the Beachclub. The wave at its best is 3' to 4' front side but is clean and runs for a fair distance. If you are more daring than I, the opposite side of the cove point has some larger spots but is very rocky. If you use your boat you might want to try the islands outside of Schooner. There are waves out there that break on both the northerlies and the usual south winds. Have fun.

Should get the new one in a few weeks - in time for fall swells. Went for a 6'10" which should be plenty. Lots of options there.

G'day all. I'm an ex-pat returning to the Island for a couple weeks at the end of July. Just wondering if anyone was up for some exploring to find some good points. I realise it's not the best time of year. However two years ago I found a couple of sweet reefs off of Nootka in July. It was 4ft+ and light winds. Awesome days. I live in Queensland, Australia.I am happy to split cost for hiring a boat to check out possible reefs and points. Anyone have some spots they've been considering let me know.
Cheers
Travis

I am gonna sound kind of amateur next to the shaper above, but 7s make a whole ton of boards with 5 fin boxes. The problem you'll have I believe though, is that if you want to ride a single fin, you'll need something with a "mal style" fin-box in the middle. Your avarage middle thruster fin wont be big enough to work on it's own. Unless you like things REAL loose. Once you start riding quads and twinnies it is weird going back to thrusters.

Love the Bing Synchronizer, I fact so much I've duplicated it in a hollow wood construction for my daughter. I couldn't agree more in that the vesatility of a bonzer setup is increadibly appealing. My daughters is 6'4" and I am currently building another one 5'8" in length. Both boards are constructed of 100% re-claimed lumber for my daughters board and storm felled wood for the 5'8".
Another great feature of the synchronizer is the fin box set-up. Bing has gone with Pro-Box fin boxes, and these fin boxes are the cats ass! The are compatible with pretty much any tab style fin...FCS, Lok-Box, or Futures to name a few...Also the fin boxes have inserts, allowing you to adjust your fin angles...0 degrees, 4,6 or 8 degrees...Anyways, good luck with yer search, just wanted to throw in my two cents worth, Bonzer is a good choice, almost like having a quiver all in one board!

Hi all - good timing on the new Forum... so I am on the hunt for a new board, and I want something like a bonzer - the 5 fin option. Mostly I want the single fin or quad option for different conditions. I love the single fin feel but the quad gives that extra level of control ya know??

The Bing Synchronizer looks great, but is super expensive... Any other boards out there that people could recommend?

Thanks for the feedback Starkicker!

I'll take a look at integrating that ability but for now, once you've logged in you can click Edit Profile on the left side there and at the bottom of the screen you can change your password to whatever you want.

Thanks again and hope that helps for now!
